Kats Sign Former Rhein Fire Star
David Richardson, a previous All American from Cal Poly, has entered into a contract with the San Jose SaberCats. He will be the team’s new defensive back for the upcoming season. Richardson has had enjoyed a successful career as a professional footballer since he graduated. He ended his collegiate career as the football captain his senior year.
Richardson then moved to Jacksonville to play with the Jaguars as a defensive back on their specials team. He stayed with the Jaguars for four years before heading across the pond. In NFL Europe, Richardson was a defensive back with Dusseldorf’s Rhein Fire. Eventually, Richardson moved back to California to play arena football with the Los Angeles Avengers a season later.
The San Jose Sabercats are a part of the Arena Football League. Arena football has not been in season during the last two years due to problems with funding. However, San Jose has hopes for a strong finish thanks to their new defensive back.
